Sari now -- kebaya next!

Image
last night was fun...although not as fun as Xmas party, but still fun. everyone dressed up to the nines. baju kurung, kebaya, cheongsam, punjabi suit, sari...we looked so muhibah! cross-culture dressing is fun. hehehe. i choose to wear a sari. twins tailor-made a set when they went to Mt Abu, India. sari...who will tie for me? i tied it myself. i am so proud that i managed to do it! i printed the instructions from internet and tried at home. after a few rounds, YES! it's tucked in properly. we "finished" work at 4pm yesterday so that we have time to doll up for the dinner (that's what boss said). started "wrapping" at 530. i helped another colleague with her sari after i have done mine. my research boss also gave us a good few tips on how to make the pleats nicer and how to walk in sari too! this is how i looked like in sari....hahahaha. perhaps i should get a sari for myself :) before that, i must get a kebaya. mei's is getting married to a baba in nove...

50th Merdeka Celebration

this friday will be Malaysia's 50th merdeka celebration. for me, it means a longer weekend break. no plan is planned, because i wanted to sleep. it will be a pure sleep-eat-drink-sleep day. hahahaha. august has been a hectic month. really cant wait to have no-activity-weekend. but whenever i said i wanted to laze around, for sure some adhoc plan will pop up. hehehe. this wednesday, office is holding a merdeka party dinner at sassorosso (italian restaurant). HUH?? merdeka celebration at italian restaurant?? all of us were surprised too. we thought we would be having a malaysian style of party...no one would have guessed that it's gonna be an international affair... best part, we are required to wear the traditional ethnic costume, aka sari, baju kurung, cheongsam, etc.... what the ???? and there are prizes to be won. best dressed will win RM 1,000 or RM 500 or RM 250. want fast money? then wear pretty pretty! headache....how to be extra ordinary??? gotta look presentable and eas...

i'm on stand by mode today. ??? meaning i am sitting in the office, waiting for instruction from my boss in singapore. in case she needs data, she will be able to get it asap. we are working on a pitch, hence the urgency of the data! hope the account remains with us! (pray hard!!!!) regretted that i didnt save the whole working folder in my pendrive. or else i will be sleeping at home now. :) doesnt matter lah. it's hot to sleep at home at this hour. i will just sit here till 5pm+, then go to sg wang to walk around while waiting for dinner tonight.

Up north back-to-back

i have reached the quota of travelling up north this month...or maybe this year. 3rd-5th aug, we went to Langkawi. a total 12 hours to & fro Langkawi. some couldnt believe that we drove there. they said "CRAZY ah?"... went to Langkawi with sisters and friends. actually mum & dad were there also. we went separate ways and met there. it has been such a long time since my last visit there. i think i was 6yrs old at that time. all i could remember were a mountain that looked like a pregnant woman lying on her back and a dirty yucky toilet in the hotel room. jane didnt believe me. and when we were approaching Pulau Dayang Bunting, the boatman stopped the boat and showed us the "pregnant lady" mountain! and need i say more??? "I TOLD YOU SO!!!". we compressed all the activities in 2 days. it was a tiring trip but FUN! the following weekend, 11th-12th, i was in Penang. this round was with colleague. i accompanied her to ATQ Final Concert. since i am par...

phew....still here!!!

and i thought my blog would have been "erased". the last posting was in 2006 Aug 30. wah! almost a year "hibernating"... we are already in the second half of 2007. what have i achieved?? first of all, i cant believe that i am teaching yoga kids. started attending the course last year december, and graduated on 1 July 2007! long period ah!? nah...actually it was only a 20 hour classes, but since the teacher is always flying around, it's kind of hard to fix a weekly class. kids yoga? it's tough teaching kids. with adults, at least they will pay attention to you. BUT when comes to kids, i am happy if they just follow my instructions starting from 930am till 1030am when the class finishes. after 2 months, the conclusion is, they will follow your instruction when they feel like it. or else, they would be sitting there and look at you doing tree pose, aeroplane, eagle...... every friday night, i will be thinking...what should i teach tomorrow??? i have taught them...
