prana flow yoga with Twee Merrigan 16-18 May
i spent last weekend at Malacca, attending a yoga workshop with aunty lily and agnes. it was conducted by Twee Merrigan .
we started the day early. we left kajang at 615am, because the class was scheduled to start at 930am. i was mesmerized by the teacher when she was standing in front of the class. she looked smaller than the poster. and the first session (Shingara) started at 10am. it was not as tough as i expected. she taught us how to chant, and then we started practising. her poses were so graceful.
we took a break at 12noon. went to an organic shop for lunch and the second session started at 230pm. it was a theory session. the way she conducted the class was so relaxing. plus the location was so nice. we were staying at Lisbon Hotel. the place where we practised was just next to the beach. the sea breeze was so cooling in the morning and also afternoon.

the windy breeze
she asked a question to us. "What's rasa to you?".
that got me thinking. i need to be prepared, in case she asked that question to me. she didnt. but she said she would make sure everyone of us (40) would answer.
day 2 was more on Vira. all the poses focused on strength. i couldnt do inversion poses as i was having my period. AGAIN! the same thing happened to me when i attended the Ayurveda workshop last year. the afternoon session, we watched a DVD, title "Smoke & Ashes". it was a very deep story. most of us were sleepy during the session. but i was ok, managed to keep myself awake throughout the 30minutes. after that, it was theory session again. she shared a lot of varities of songs to be used during classes. i like all her songs!!!!
we were provided dinner on saturday night. we went to another organic shop. the food was aplenty! we couldnt even finished all of them. ended up packing for breakfast. we also made pitstop at jonker street to shop awhile.
day 3 was about Shanti. relaxing, chanting. i must say, during the afternoon session chanting, it was so powerful that when i slept into the circle, my tears just flowed. i wasnt sad. but the tears just came. i thought it only happened to me. but when i sat up, i saw others were wiping their tears too. the power of chanting? twee also held her both hands on my legs. and when she touched agnes forehead, agnes's tears started to flow. it was that powerful.
i was really happy and truly enjoyed the 3 days session. i was worried that the classes might be really tough for me. but it was the reverse. twee teaching was different. from her, i learn that no one is the same and no one will be the same. if you are comfortable at this position, then be at that position. she also shared a quote, Teach To Master. how true! it's really true, especially when i started teaching yoga.
oh, what's rasa to me? i answered her on the last day afternoon session. " I rasa gembira throughout the workshop. when i first started yoga, i rasa sakit. as i am not flexible, i rasa sakit everytime i go for classes. seeing myself improving, i rasa gembira!"
