a book a month?
how many books do you read in a month? or in a year? i didn't count. so far, for first quarter of 2010, i have read 6 books! (the list in the right panel under "i'm reading..")
i don't have any favourite authors. when i'm in a bookshop, the books that have nice covers will attract me. yes, i know, don't judge a book by its cover. wei, can't help it leh.
last monday, when i was walking down from monorail station, i ter-saw MPH sign at crowne plaza hotel. i thought i was dreaming. still early morning mah. i was asking myself, since when this bookstore is there? hahahaha. and i started asking around. no one knew. those who take the monorail just said,"yeah, i saw that..but not sure when it was opened".
i saw an MPH ad in newspaper this morning. and there was a note saying special discount for the new outlet at crowne plaza hotel. confirmed! so, i went to check out the place with my colleague during lunch hour. it's located at the hotel lobby. not a big store, just nice for those who wanted to buy something to read.
i'm a cheapo when comes to books. i hardly buy books because it's expensive. usually i just borrow from friends. today, don't know what's wrong with me. the urge to buy a book is super high. i selected 1 which is the thickest with the smallest words! and i chose the one with the nicest cover too! then only i checked the storyline! my colleague bought 1 book too. can share lor.
#1 : my new book & 1st member card!
we didn't expect any discount because the books that we chose has not "discount" sticker on it. when we wanted to make payment, the cashier asked for our business card. with that card we can get 10% discount! WAH! since i didn't have my business card with me, my colleague paid in advance. and we got a chance to pick a gift from the lucky draw box because we have exceeded the minimum purchase of RM50 at this new store. we got postcards.

the cashier threw in 2 bookmarks together with our purchase.
did you know that today is World Book Day? i didn't! buy book on World Book Day? coincidence? hahaha..

since it's a new store, they are running a special promotion to recruit more members. you can become a member by paying RM10, instead of RM 20. this card is valid for 2 years. i wonder how many books will i buy from today onwards. a book a month? it's part of income tax relief wor!
