NZ : Day 7
tauranga > hamilton.. that's our destination for day 7. averagely, we travelled 200km a day. we would leave around 9am in the morning, and reach around 4pm.

#1 : diy in the morning (all still in Pj's)
we tracked to mclaren falls, wearing ponchos. it was drizzling that morning. cold. wet. that didnt dampen our spirit. it was very quiet when we reached there. kind of scary if travelling in a small group. we walked the easy track, and greeted by this view.

#2 : mclaren falls (another bridal's veil fall look-alike)
the roads inside this park was quite confusing. we had trouble looking for our way out. we made one big round, and ended up back at the place where we parked our car earlier. still no sign of exit. and we turned one more round again, and finally, exit.

#3 : mary had a little lamb.. little lamb...
without wasting time, we continued our journey to te aroha hot spring. we made a stop at matamata for lunch at subway.

#4 : smoked turkey
we had no idea that this town has the Hobbiton Movie Set Tours, until we saw the board by the roadside. Matamata has become a vibrant visitor destination, attracting visitors from all over the world.

#5 : my precious....
when we reached te aroha, it was already late afternoon. we thought te aroha hot spring was a free-entry place. mana tau, it only offered spa, and we have to make reservation in advance, and the only available slot was at 4pm. it was round 2pm at that time. we decided not to wait... and just walked around the area.

#6 : sad faces... (my period came on this day. hence, definitely no spa for me jor!)

#6 : takde chance buat spa, we dipped our feet inside "foot pool". the water was not hot, not warm. just for the sake of dipping aje.
and we left, looking forward to hamilton. hamilton is famous for its gardens. so we went. it was already 5pm when we reached there. we saw there was a wedding reception going on. hence, we assumed the garden was closed to public. and we drove off to look for J's backpackers. found it at the opposite side of the road. we missed the turning! aiyak! so we made a u-turn. found a hypermarket at the roundabout, so we shopped for grocery first before we headed to hostel.
menu for the dinner : burger pattie, mashed potato, kon-lor fusili (we were still trying to finish all the food that we bought), brocolli & vege.
cook? : elaine took over from regine. something flew inside regine's eye when we reached at J's. her eye was red, and she was given a "rest day".
this hostel offered the smallest room! 7 of us in a room for 6. we added 1 extra bed to put on the floor. we didnt have much room to turn around when all were inside the room. elaine & jane ended up in 1 single bed. cold wor. they prefered to stick to each other to keep themselves warm. twins... hahhaa.
and the best part was, there was a cat that lingered around the house. a black cat. none of us like cat. and elaine is terrified of it. while she was cooking, her eyes were on the cat. that's how teriffied she is. hahahaha.. the kitchen was very small too. we were lucky that we reached early, and started cooking.
