NZ : Day 8
the small house only has 2 toilets. we had to take turn to wash up. and we stood at the door, to make sure that we were in 'queue'. prayed hard that 'big business' wont happen when both the toilets were occupied.
after checked out, we went back to the hamilton garden. just wanted to take a picture with the name "hamilton" there. started to drizzle again. sigh. it was still early, only the 7 of us were at the garden. there were 7 different theme of gardens. i love the renaissance garden most.

#1 : list of gardens in hamilton garden

#2 : top to bottom; renaissance, marilyn monroe in American Modernist, and back to renaissance
there was a chrysanthemum exihibition in one of the halls in hamilton garden. we didnt go in because;
1) it was not ready to open to public, too early lah
2) nz 4 per entry. just to look at kekwa? nvm.
3) we wanted to shop in auckland. time not enough!
we just took a peep. we were impressed though! the kekwa was so HUGE!

#3 : yellow kekwa almost as big as the ang-moh's head
shopping time! first stop would be candyland. no exact address, only knew it was located along the highway towards auckland. the passengers at the back were asleep most of the time. it was raining along the way. heavy eyes! i didnt really notice all the boards at the side of the road. my eyes were look straight on the road.
suddenly peggy said out loud, "candyland! turn to right!" . too late. we have missed the junction. u-turn lor. timing just right. if she didnt notice the board, then bye bye candyland, hello auckland! hehehe.
once we reached at the factory, we were mesmerised by the colourful walls outside the factory. camera. ready. action!

#4 : the most colourful walls
then we saw a notice on the door. "we will open at 12noon today in conjuction with anzac day"!
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!
it was only 10.20am when we looked at our watch. how?? wait here? or proceed? sigh... we could smell the sweetness of candyland when we were outside. we peered into the glass door, hoping to see someone inside. then prayed that the someone would open the shop for business. wishful thinking... there were a few cars with children inside that drove to candyland too. all went off with disappointed face.
we decided not to wait and continue to shop #2. Bendon Outlet @ pukehohe. when we found the shop, it was closed too. aiyo!!!! and we peered again inside the shop. "eh? why only inner wears geh? bra...panties?? did we go to the right shop?" we looked at the name of the shop again. bendon. ngam. sigh.... whatever. it was closed anyway. no shopping again!
i timed the journey from candyland to bendon outlet. we took 30mins. i suggested to turn backed to candyland to shop there. we only shopped at arataki honey shop on day 3. all agreed and we were back in candyland. shopped shopped shopped! candies, lollipops. and not forgetting also lots of pictures!

#5 : queenofbee
we reached auckland late afternoon. we only stopped at McD for coffee break. checked into oakland's lodge in mt eden.

#6 : the lodge
we booked 3 rooms here. 3-2-2. again, the snorers were together. the "quiet" 3 were in the same room. we walked around the small town outside our lodge and packed some fish & chips for late lunch. we could not finish the chips. too much, just WAY too much for us.

#7 : @ bonzo burgers & leftover chips
after late lunch, we went to downtown to shop. knowing it was anzac day, we knew most of the shops would be closed, yet we still wanted to go. the shopaholic in us. few shops that were managed by koreans/asians were still open. nothing much to buy. wanted to buy all-blacks (adidas), but t-shirts were not up to mark. didnt fit us nicely. empty handed. and rain started to fall.
