Happy Boxing Day! Yes, I’m working today! Boss decided to open the office today. Here I am. This year Christmas was spent working from home and watching tv. Hallmark channel has a lot of Christmas movies line-up. I always love mushy-mushy movies! Our office Christmas party was held last Thursday. The theme for the night was “Wishing for the Stars”. So, all of us were geared up with stars from head to toe (almost!). I DIY-ed mine. Bought a roll of gold wrapping paper, some “twister” rod, and a hair-band. Cost me less than RM10 and my sister and I created some “masterpieces”. #1 : my master piece-s (i love the hair-band most!) #2 : the outcome Dinner was at The Chalet, Equatorial Hotel (lost count how many years having Christmas dinner there). Drink drank, but not drunk. The party was not as happening as last 2 years, when we all dressed up as movie stars! I was a Joker that year and managed to win the best prize. Not so lucky this year though. #3 : gift exchange for my colleague As usua...

i love to write

Image
i love to write. i dont know why. word seems to attract me more than number. i hate sudoku. never able to finish one. except for those super simple ones. i found 2 exercise books when i was rearranging my cupboard few weeks ago. the first one was written when i was in standard 2, year 1987. it was labelled as Berita. sort of like a journal what i do every monday, as per the day in the pages. #1 : Berita (below are the unedit version, what i wrote when i was 8 years old) (L) Pada masa cuti sekolah, saya menolong emak menyapu sampah. Lepas itu say pergi main. (R) Pada masa Tahun Baru Cina saya bermain mercun dengan kawan-kawan saya. Selepas itu saya pergi mandi. i have thrown away all my exercise books. i dont remember keeping this exercise book. but it was inside my cupboard. there were 19 entries in my first Berita book. my second exercise book was written when i was in secondary school, Form 5 naluri. journal writing, that was what my english teacher forced us to do. he said we could ...

Penang Food Hunt 2008

Image
We participated in the Penang Food Hunt 2008 last weekend. 2 cars, 8 of us. Team 57 had Elaine, Jane, Regine & Kin, while Team 58 consisted of Burnie, Cing Yee, Sim & yours truly. The hunt flagged off in Penang, instead of KL. We drove up north on Saturday morning, early morning, in order to reach on time for the registration & briefing by 11am. Team 57 started the journey at 5.30am while Team 58 at 6am. We only made 1 pee-stop at Tapah R&R. Smooth journey all the way, except slightly jam along the Penang Bridge. We reached Paradise Sandy Bay at 10.30am, ½ hour to spare before the final briefing. There was a sea of RED in the ballroom. Theme for the hunt was RED . Everyone wore RED t-shirt. What a scene! #1 : Flag off The hunt was divided into a few sections, in order to disperse us. 90+ cars participated in this hunt. We flagged off at 12noon sharp. Leg 1, we were required to find 4 famous eatery place in Penang. Google map were attached for each location. Both teams...

Image
have been working late for the past few week S . no proper dinner, always rushing to the train/LRT/monorail stations so that i wont miss my ride home. last night, Quin dropped me at KLCC. as usual, i walked very fast towards the station. while walking, i saw a lady taking photo. camera was aimed towards the ceiling. and i looked up. and i saw these... #1 : boxes of presents hanging down from the ceiling i want i want! i want all of them! (with real gift inside of course!) i wish i have lots of presents dropping down from the sky, all for ME! ME only! my eyes kept looking at the ceiling while walking. hahaha. the big Xmas tree was placed at the usual spot, centre court concourse area. the first time when i saw this tree, my jaw almost dropped. after a few years, "oh...the same tree again, and again and again?" but this year decoration was different. no more purple and silver theme. got snowflakes, snowman, reindeers, elfs, etc lah.. this the season to be jolly, fala-la-la-la, ...

short short trip to Port Dickson

Image
i could not remember when was the last time i went to PD. was it with Everfit? or with my friends? anyway, i was given vouchers for a night stay at The Legend Water Chalet . the vouchers are valid until 30 Nov, i.e. today. since it was free, and it has been some time since the last visit, we went there for a stay. oh, the 'we' consisted of parents, elaine & me. #1 : the water chalets and hotel rooms #2 : view from the parking when we were about to leave kajang, the weather was gloomy and cloudy. i thought it would rain. when we reached PD, it was bright & sunny! sunny until we decided to stay inside the room until it's time for dinner. it was a deluxe room, with a king size bed & a day bed. the layout of the room was new to us. when open the door, you will see the open bathroom. then only you step inside the room. #3 : us we went out around 5pm, to round the town and also the beach area. dad said to go out earlier, so that we could see the road clearly. since no...

wedding, wedding and more wedding (2008)

Image
i have declared the month of November as "banquet month". 1) Carmen & Matthew ( 15th Nov 08, Sat ) the wedding lunch reception was held at The Courtyard with the presence of family and friends. the theme was purple and white. it would be fun to dress up according to theme. hence, i went and bought a purple dress. first sight, it looked like blue. but after a while, it was purple. i was supposed to be seated at Akihabara table. but none of the guest were there yet. hence, i hopped to another table, Kyoto and made myself comfortable there. lunch was buffet style. the food was nice. i love the potatoes most! the rain cooled down the hot weather on that day. #1 : congratulations to Carmen & Matthew 2) Suat Lie & Kien Hong ( 21st - 22nd Nov 08, Sat & Sun ) they booked the restaurant 1 year in advance, and yet they could only secured Friday for their wedding reception, a day before their wedding ceremony. blessing in disguise for me because i have another wedding ...

photos for the future!

Image
the grand prize of RM 8,000 was very motivating! the cash would be handy for the 'banquet' months in november and december. i had a day to think of what to submit. should i display all my mobile phones? from the 1st siemen to the current nokia? but i didnt have the photos of the old mobile phones.. what else to submit to show the past and the present? once i reached home, i started digging my photo albums. and i prepared for 2 entries. #slide 1 : my graduation day. kindergarten and university. #slide 2 : my bicycles this contest was organised by Astro History Channel. media agencies were invited to join the contest and the result would be announced during their function at Carcosa Seri Negara on 4th november. i didnt go for the presentation of Astro History Channel, although i was informed that i was one of the finalist. i asked," will i win something?"... reply," just go lah"... but no one in our office was going. no transport for me. hence i skipped the fu...

Kerala, India

Image
8th Oct, we went back to office to work. that day, we only need to work for 1/2 day. it was my company's departure day to Kochi city, Kerala India. the first batch has left via jetairway in the morning. the remaining of us were scheduled via silkair in the evening. flight was 4.55pm, hence, the reason why only 1/2 day work. usual routine, i.e breakfast, reading the newspaper, waiting for others to come into the office. my mind was totally about the trip. we already informed client and media owners that we would be closed from 8-12 oct. so, not much to follow up that morning. slowly, one by one came into the office with their luggages. big and small. heavy and light. i didnt bring mine because it was crazy to lug the luggage onboard KTM and Monorail. i opted to leave from home with Lee. eyes were on the watch. time passed slowly. checked emails, logged into facebook, personal emails, all could not wait to leave the office. about 11.30am, Lee & me were some of the early ones who ...

mid-autumn festival

Image
today is mid-autumn festival. or commonly known as lantern festival or mooncake festival. it falls on the 15th of the eighth month (lunar calendar). it's one of the major festives in the lunar calendar. after mid-auntumn, the chinese will be looking forward to the winter soltis! and that means CNY is coming soon. but that's still a few months more to go.. last weekend, we went out to the temple in kajang town to celebrate the lantern festival. parents were part of the committees, so they asked us to go out to participate and also help out with the free buffet dinner for the public. there was a lantern competition too! there were so many creative entries! so hard to pick the winner. my personal favourite would be the "ferris-wheel" lantern, made from recycle tin can. below were some of the entries. ferris-wheel, petronas twin tower, malaysian 'flavor', ketupat look-alike, and tudung saji lantern. after dinner, we participated in the parade around kajang town! t...

the day i turned 29

Image
Saturday 5th July : I started the day early because I have yoga class at 8am. After an hour of stretching, I felt so good! Once home, started cleaning and organizing the house because there would be guest tonight at my place. Surprisingly, I didn't feel tired. No need nap.. couldn't even nap! Too long didn't BBQ, we took so long to start the fire. BT said we didn't read the instruction on the charcoal box, that's why the fire couldn't start. We wasted all the fire starters! Ended up, BT took the charcoal and use the gas stove to lit it up! We started playing with fire at 7pm. First few attempt, the fire starter was burning, then it went off before the charcoal on fire! hahahaha... And only managed to get it right at about 8pm+. I guess, it was meant to start at that time because the invitation that I sent to them was to start at 8.10pm. Food allocation was just right. I prepared salad. Mum tried marinating pork this time, and they turned out to be so good! haha...
