turned 33 last Friday. went out for lunch with colleagues, then dinner with friends. friend asked me, "how do you feel today?" i replied, "weird...". i guess i'm not used to be in the centre of attention. haha. and presents one by one.... from cupcakes, to cookies, to book & lunch box!! till the next birthday!

last saturday, my sisters and i were invited to attend a surprise birthday party. we knew the birthday girl from our yoga TTC course. and we treated this party as a reunion. there were only 4 chinese in the house. the rest, French! hahaha. we didnt understand what they were talking about, but we enjoyed ourselves. the other guest were very friendly although we didnt really communicate with each other. happy to be there, enjoying the simple yet beautiful & yummy food!! and the cake was something new to us. it was called croquembouch , i dont know how to pronounce as i googled this. it was very sweet. and this is served on special occasion like birthdays, weddings, etc. traditional french dessert, we were told. drinking wine, enjoying the food bit by bit, from appetisers, to main course of paella, to traditional french dessert, ending with assorted fruit on satay stick & cake!! i want this kind of party for my birthday too! hahaha...

#1 : a bag, as per the picture on the box (light & easy!!) #2 : it was from moonstruckmum . a magazine was attached to the box, featuring the spring summer collection of bapekids . and there is a page filled with stickers! so cute! #3 : (left) from my childhood friend & (right) my boss. childhood friend as in we have been friends since we were 6 years old & and hopefully, to many more years to come! my boss, which i have been working with her since i started my days in media. #4 : a scrapbook from ms lee! no need to say more, she knows me well! i'm going to use the ideas inside this book! will share my artwork in the space soon, i hope! hehehe.. (depends on how rajin i am lah) #5 : from cousin sister (it's a story book. nice cover!) she knows i love to read.... muahahahha! #6 : unexpected... all the way from italy my cousin sister's hubby bought a size too big for the wife. so, i'm the proud new owner! the shoe that breathe.... awesome!

it's 1215am now. came back from dinner with friends. settling down. hmm... an interesting day to welcome number 32! hahaha... not sure if i'm predictable. they just knew what's my favourite stuff. haha. they bought me mahjong cuppie cupcakes. i super love mahjong! presents, i received scrapbook manual (she know i'm arty), a table fan (as i always complain hot), bag (which i'm looking for one..now no need look), perfumes (no need replenish!) will post the photos later... time to sleep! a happy birthday indeed!

decided to buy myself a cake today. to sweeten my day after being 'stressed' by clients. i hardly buy cake. but today, i bought! haha! also because today is chor 7, Yan Yat aka everyone's birthday according to chinese calendar. me & colleague were at gourmet during lunch hour. she needed to buy a cake for her dad. could not decide which one. both also less sweet. so, the only way to know which one taste better is to eat it! and we bought two. # 1 : red velvet (she chose this) #2 : peach custard (i chose this) verdict, she loved what she chose and she will order that for her dad. i like mine because it was light & fresh. happy birthday to you, too!

last friday was ricks birthday. he didnt expect we would be "touching" his table on his big day. last last friday's plan was a failure (no repeat.. recycling sucks). so, instead of messing up, it was cleaned up instead. and changed the wallpaper. added some deco just for the sake of "party feel"... #1 : the clean table his response, "you all ah.... tsk tsk tsk.. should have taken MC today". then, we tried to surprise him with a sing-song session. this has failed because he knew. next was lunch. we went to tony roma's as he is a meat-a-ta-rian. they gave the birthday boy a complimentary birthday lava. he was ambushed from the back by the waiters with a super loud happy birthday song. face immediately turned red! hahaha. wishing ricks, many more quarters to go!! last saturday, i was in malacca for a 2D1N trip. just to eat. re-eat what i have ate on new year this year. while waiting for a procession to pass by, we ended up by the riverside, overlook...

It started last year when your team started to plan surprises for Lee on her birthday. It was nicely executed. Tears in her eyes… aww… To have the same effect after the first surprise was kind of hard. Especially when the lucky one is you, CYW . You noticed we were missing last night during buka puasa dinner. This morning, “ what time you will come in today ”. Enough said. Balloons, checked. Big Mess, checked. Crown, checked. Ribbons, checked. We have checked whatever items that we think should be checked. Still, you managed to dodge all of us by coming in earlier than expected. went out for a belated birthday dinner last sunday with my friends at khuntai restaurant, off jalan gasing. the food was so so only. friend bought me a jelly cake. i asked for mahjong shape. but she said it was too HUGE. 5 kg. hence she chose another shape, which was a lamb, the year i was born. the best part was when we were about to leave the restaurant. usually, the restaurant staff would just bring the cake out when we requested for it. they wont light the candle, whatsoever. we wanted to go to another cooler place to eat the cake. so we asked them to bring the cake out. we waited for quite some time. no sign of the cake although we have paid the bill. then all the lights in the restaurant were switch off. err... "what's happening?",we asked. the staff said,"moe-si moe-si, sang yat jeh.. (nothing nothing, it's just birthday)". then my friends started laughing. they saw the staff holding the cake, walking out from the restaurant, candle lit and singing ha...

Q : how do you surprise your colleague on her birthday? A : a little bit of thoughts & most importantly team work! today is Lee's birthday. her team worked hard to "mess" up her workstation yesterday. and we waited for her arrival this morning... and she was blown away! look at the smile... priceless! the team who made it happened... happy birthday, lee!

according to the chinese calendar, today is the 13th day of the 6th month. and today, is my chinese birthday! like last year , mum has cooked mee suah, chicken drumstick & eggs for me! yummylicious.....

i'm officially 30 today. gosh! the big 3-0 already. hahaha. i had a lovely lazy sunday session with my friends, and a sweet sweet monday with my colleagues. got to know that i share the same birthday as another colleague (and also Dalai Lama). birthday wishes that i have made & said out LOUD , very loud! 1) i want a rich man! 2) i want a rich man! (got 2 cakes, hence 2 wishes) no harm wishing. why rich man, my friend asked. i said,"why not?". friend terus diam.. hahhaha.. let's wait & see... Saturday 5th July : I started the day early because I have yoga class at 8am. After an hour of stretching, I felt so good! Once home, started cleaning and organizing the house because there would be guest tonight at my place. Surprisingly, I didn't feel tired. No need nap.. couldn't even nap! Too long didn't BBQ, we took so long to start the fire. BT said we didn't read the instruction on the charcoal box, that's why the fire couldn't start. We wasted all the fire starters! Ended up, BT took the charcoal and use the gas stove to lit it up! We started playing with fire at 7pm. First few attempt, the fire starter was burning, then it went off before the charcoal on fire! hahahaha... And only managed to get it right at about 8pm+. I guess, it was meant to start at that time because the invitation that I sent to them was to start at 8.10pm. Food allocation was just right. I prepared salad. Mum tried marinating pork this time, and they turned out to be so good! haha...
